Installation & Setup

Prepare remote for use with your audio/video components.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 2 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Select device: Press corresponding device button (TV, DVD, etc.).
  3. Program remote: Use auto-search or direct code entry method.
  4. Test functions: Verify basic commands work properly.

WARNING! Use correct battery type; do not mix old and new batteries.

Battery Installation

Proper battery installation ensures optimal performance.

  1. Turn remote over and locate battery compartment cover.
  2. Slide cover open according to arrow direction.
  3. Insert 2 AA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace cover and slide until it clicks into place.

CAUTION! Remove batteries if remote will not be used for extended periods.

Programming the Remote

Two programming methods: Auto-search and Direct Code Entry.

  1. Auto-search Method: Press and hold device key until LED blinks twice, point at device, press POWER repeatedly until device turns off, press ENTER to save.
  2. Direct Code Entry: Press and hold device key, enter 3-digit code from code list, release device key, test functions.
  3. Learning Method: Use LEARN button to teach commands from original remotes.

Tip: Keep code list handy for quick reference during programming.

Learning Function

Teach the remote commands from your original equipment remotes.

  1. Press and hold LEARN button until LED illuminates.
  2. Press the button on Marantz remote you want to program.
  3. Point original remote at learning sensor (front of Marantz remote).
  4. Press corresponding button on original remote.
  5. LED blinks to confirm learning, then turns off.
  6. Test learned command to verify operation.

WARNING! Keep original remote 1-3 inches from learning sensor during process.

Macro Programming

Create sequences of commands for one-button operation.

  1. Press and hold MACRO button until LED lights.
  2. Press macro button (M1, M2, etc.) to store sequence.
  3. Enter commands in desired sequence with 1-second pauses.
  4. Press MACRO button again to end programming.
  5. Test macro by pressing assigned macro button.

Example: M1 macro: Turn on TV, switch to HDMI1, turn on DVD player, start playback.
