Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface away from heat sources.

  1. Connect audio inputs: Use XLR or RCA cables from source components.
  2. Connect audio outputs: Use XLR or RCA cables to amplifier or recording device.
  3. Connect power: Use supplied power cord to IEC connector.
  4. Ensure proper ventilation: Leave adequate space around unit for cooling.

WARNING! Unit contains sensitive electronic components; handle with care to avoid damage. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; observe LED indicators.

  1. Set input level: Adjust input gain control for optimal meter reading.
  2. Select input type: Choose between XLR and RCA inputs as needed.
  3. Adjust frequency bands: Set sliders to desired positions for your listening environment.
  4. Test bypass function: Engage bypass to compare equalized/unequalized sound.

CAUTION! Avoid extreme slider positions initially; make gradual adjustments for best results.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Front Panel: POWER switch, 10-band slider controls per channel, INPUT LEVEL control, BYPASS switch, LED meters.

Rear Panel: XLR INPUT/OUTPUT, RCA INPUT/OUTPUT, POWER CONNECTOR, GROUND LIFT switch.

Frequency Bands: 31Hz, 63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz (±12dB adjustment). Level Control: Input gain adjustment (±12dB). Bypass: Defeats all equalization for direct signal path. Meters: Dual 10-segment LED displays for input/output level monitoring.

Connecting Devices

Inputs: XLR balanced or RCA unbalanced from source components. Outputs: XLR balanced or RCA unbalanced to amplifiers or recorders.

  1. Turn off all equipment before making connections.
  2. Choose appropriate cables (balanced XLR for long runs, RCA for short distances).
  3. Connect inputs from preamplifier or source component.
  4. Connect outputs to power amplifier or recording interface.
  5. Use ground lift switch if hum is present.

Tip: Use high-quality cables and keep signal paths as short as possible for best performance.

Operation

Designed for precise audio frequency adjustment in professional and home environments.

  1. Power on: Switch POWER to ON position.
  2. Set input level: Adjust INPUT LEVEL for optimal meter reading (avoid clipping).
  3. Adjust frequencies: Move sliders to boost or cut specific frequency ranges.
  4. Monitor levels: Watch LED meters for proper signal levels.
  5. Engage bypass: Use BYPASS switch to compare equalized/unequalized sound.
  6. Make fine adjustments: Tweak sliders for desired tonal balance.

WARNING! Avoid extreme boost settings which can cause distortion and equipment damage.

Advanced Features

Ground Lift: Reduces hum in balanced connections. Slope Control: Adjusts filter steepness for precise equalization. Meter Calibration: Internal trim pots for meter calibration.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Use compressed air to remove dust from sliders and controls. Wipe exterior with dry, soft cloth.

CAUTION! Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays. Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
